Update: Video Project with Khenchen Nyima Gyaltsen Rinpoche

We have got some exciting news from the Milarepa Retreat Center (MRZ) in Schneverdingen, where the video project with Khenchen Nyima Gyaltsen Rinpoche is in full progress.

Arrival of Khenchen Nyima Gyaltsen Rinpoche

On Friday, February 2nd, we had the honor of welcoming Khenchen Nyima Gyaltsen Rinpoche from Kagyu College in Dehradun to the Milarepa Retreat Center. Since his arrival, our days have been enriched with his profound teachings and the intense filming of the “Single Intention” (Tib. Gongchik) and the “Essence of the Mahayana Teachings” (Tib. Thegchen Tenpé Nyingpo), two foundational works of the Drikung Kagyu tradition.

Filming and Daily Life During Production

The filming takes place daily from 9 AM to 12 PM and in the afternoons from 3 PM to 5 PM. The Achi Temple serves as our studio, and we are thrilled to capture the unique atmosphere of this location in our recordings.

Special thanks goes to Addy Ipsen and Bibi Holm Ipsen, our talented camerawoman and experienced sound technician. Not only are they outstanding filmmakers, but they are also students of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. Their support is invaluable, and we are extremely fortunate to have them as part of this project.

So far, we have recorded over 20 hours of Gongchik teachings by Khenchen Nyima Gyaltsen Rinpoche, and we anticipate that the final footage will include more than 40 hours of Gongchik teachings and about 20 hours on the Essence of the Mahayana Teachings. This footage will later be used as part of the Dharmadhara study and practice program and made available to participants as instructional videos.

Losar at MRZ

On February 10th, we celebrated Losar at MRZ. Khenchen and the translation group prepared momos (Tibetan dumplings) together. In the afternoon, Khenchen led a Jikten Sumgon Guru Yoga and an Achi smoke offering. Moments like these of community and spiritual deepening make MRZ truly special.
