Many Buddhist traditions include texts that summarize the teachings and lead step by step to the goal. The three lectures in this seminar will cover the background and content of some of these texts. The aim is to present works from different Buddhist schools and to shed light on different aspects of the doctrine, such as meditation, ethics and wisdom development. The lectures are aimed at those interested in learning more about the systematic teaching of Buddhist doctrines and offer a deeper insight into the literary tradition of Buddhism. The complex texts are contextualized and their spiritual and philosophical significance is elaborated.
