We cordially invite you to a special meditation course in which Drubpön Sangye teaches a traditional breathing meditation technique from the Drikung Kagyu tradition. This practice, which goes back to the Anapanasati Sutta, among others, was revitalised by H.H. Drikung Kyabgön Thinley Lhundup and combines Buddha’s original teachings with elements of Vipassana, Zen, Mahamudra and Dzogchen.
The course leads through four successive stages of meditation: from body observation to feelings and mind contemplation to meditation on mental objects (dharmas). For beginners, the basics of the meditation posture are taught.
This balanced mind training is suitable for everyone.
Drubpön Sangye was born in 1973 in the village of Tia in Ladakh, Northern India. He is the resident lama of the Drikung Kagyu Ratna Shri Center in Estonia. Drubpön Sangye conducts various meditation courses, rituals and practices and gives oral transmissions (Tib. Lung) and empowerments.
Drubpön Sangye entered the monastic primary school in Lamayuru at the age of nine. He then went to the newly founded Drikung Kagyu Jangchubling Institute in Dehradun, India. For a time he was a companion to H.H. Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang. After completing his studies, Drubpön Sangye returned to Ladakh, where he served the local community as a monk for three years in a small monastery called Tserkarmo. His Holiness sent Drubpön Sangye to the traditional three-year retreat in Almora, where he successfully completed his studies from Ngöndro to the Six Yogas of Naropa and returned to Dehradun.
