This series of seminars is aimed at those interested in acquiring knowledge of the Tibetan written language in order to be able to delve deeper into Buddhism. The first solid basic knowledge of the grammar of classical Tibetan is imparted. At the same time, reading the Tibetan script is deepened and a basic vocabulary is built up.
The main teaching basis of this course led by Claude Jürgens (Yeshe Metog) is the textbook “Einführung in die Tibetische Schriftsprache” by Christine Sommerschuh, 2008.
Although there are no grades or exams, completing written homework and preparing and following up on lessons is crucial to successfully completing the course. After taking part in a subsequent second series of seminars, participants will be able to read simple Buddhist texts independently. If enough participants come together, this seminar series will be followed by a reading course to repeat and deepen what has been learned.
Further details about this course will be available here on the Dharmadhara homepage at the end of January.
